Gold Stage Highlights: Life is better done live
Let’s first look at the wonderful people populating our Gold Stage – previously our main stage. The MC is Sheldon Shepherd, Jamaica’s ambassador in China, a talented dub poet, and an actor in the "One Love" Bob Marley biopic released this year. Now, onto the music:
- Luciano – aka The Messenjah, has been stringing together hits for decades. A living legend who consistently delivers inspiring live shows and effortlessly captivates the audience. He will team up with Christopher Ellis, who will headline our Gold Stage on Saturday after YG Marley.
- Stonebwoy is Ghana’s finest, mixing reggae with dancehall and afrobeats in a scorching blend.
- Big Youth is the father of toasting, placing his unique throat sound on the most catchy riddims since the 70s. Things Big Youth has in abundance: tasty licks, great grooves, and charisma. A diamond of the genre for over four decades!
- BNXN – formerly known as BUJU, is the brilliant star in the Afrobeats firmament. With roots in Nigeria, he is now taking over the world. Unique sound, strong lyrics, and a presence that melts ice – what could go wrong?
- T.O.K. has been breaking records worldwide since the early 2000s, blending pure singing lines and sharp raps. We can't say no to high-energy performances on the best riddims.
- Postmen! After dominating the radio in the 90s/2000s with hits like "U Wait" and "Cocktail", they went quiet for a while. Now they’re back and ready to rock our Gold Stage! Nostalgia full of funky hits and the start of a fine new chapter? We want to be there!
- Omar Perry – son of the legendary producer Lee “Scratch” Perry and Belgium’s finest – brings Asham Band for a great set on Saturday afternoon. His warm voice and catchy songs work perfectly with the Belgian craftsmanship of Asham.
Bounce Dancehall: Deliciously Hard, Sultry, Unique, Explosive
Following a long tradition, our Bounce Dancehall is hotter and sweatier than the average Swede would consider for a sauna. We close on Saturday night with a live act, not just any act.
- Skillibeng is a tornado with a style so hot that we’re lucky there’s anything left of our tent after the show. With hits like "Crocodile Teeth" and "Jump" (with Tyla and Gunna), he electrifies the music world and our Bounce stage. Delicious!
- Warrior Sound International is a name that resonates in the soundsystem scene. These champions of sound clash culture will surely set the dance floor on fire.
- Dunrich World Sound flies in from Jamaica to test everyone’s endurance with authentic dancehall vibes.
- Massive B with the iconic Bobby Konders swaps New York’s dancehall clubs for the woods of Belgium for one evening. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!
- Brooke Baily delivers the caviar of Afrobeats with sets beloved by the presidential family of Equatorial Guinea – no lie! She plays at festivals and clubs all over the world. She’ll do her magic again in our Bounce Dancehall.
- DJ MJ – Little Links is a British sensation at the turntables. His sets are universally appreciated in the scene as gems of foundation reggae. And all this… at just ten years old! He must be the youngest festival DJ the event has ever seen. We need to be there!
Also on the bill are homegrown talents like DJ Gajoy, Team DAMP, Twinroot, DJ Shar Perez, and Selecta Killa. DMasta comes over from the Netherlands, while Jamie Rodigan and YNG CPTN swap the UK for a spot on the craziest stage of the weekend.
Yagga Yagga: Rocksteady, Ska, and Towers of Vinyl
In our Yagga Yagga, vinyl crackles and scrapes on the turntables led by legends like Gladdy Wax, David Katz, and Sugar Charly – who was also present at the first edition in 1978. This full-fledged stage is designed for rocksteady, old roots, and ska lovers, with lectures and workshops in between – did someone say Reggae Yoga with Reggae Reeta? Yes, indeed! Now, onto the music.
Sjak Soundsystem delivers idyllic sound thanks to its caravan converted into a sound system. What a few friends from the Kempen can achieve! During the weekend, its caravan sound welcomes top artists like the French Helea, Louison, Sharon Walker, aka Texas Ranger, Kris van Beethoven, and the unmatched turntable wizards of Soulboys vs. Rudeboys.
Official Launch Party: What a Line-Up for a Free Party!
Great news for those arriving early or just wanting to soak up the atmosphere: Our camping party gets a funky upgrade and becomes a free pre-festival!
Manudigital is the dancehall/reggae producer of the moment, unleashing a digital revolution with great riddims and tunes with the strongest artists. He brings toaster/singer Dapatch for a wonderful set.
Before that, Switzerland-based Little Lion Sound unleashed its sound waves on the sultry voice of Jamaican wonderchild Eesah. This sound system is making waves at parties and as producers of the hottest artists.
Locally grown Bong Productions has been part of the reggae scene for decades. They will kick off the event with an energetic set that will shake your eardrums.
Beautiful Addition to an Already Fantastic Line-Up
All these stars complement the line-up, including YG Marley, who is breaking records with his "Praise Jah in the Moonlight" and will perform an exclusive Benelux show on Saturday, August 3rd, Julian Marley & The Uprising, hip-hop legends Arrested Development, reggae boss Alborosie, and much more.
The line-up of our Dub Forest was already released in early May – to the delight of dub lovers at home and far beyond.

RG2024: Much More Than 4 Stages and Music
Also not to be missed this year: loads of surprising side activities, a reggae fanfare, mobile sound systems, workshops, reggae yoga, exotic flavours at our food court, a reggae market for the alternative shopaholics among us, a fresh market instead of a breakfast tent… In short, it is a cultural explosion where you don’t know where to look first.
